Our Guest Clarice Fluitt

CLARICE:  I never, never in my life have I seen people that just were so excited! And the priest says, “Does anybody want the blessing?” Well if you’re Catholic you know what that means. “In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost” and you go home! And I said, “They’re fixin’ to conclude.” Nobody came up! Of course, they knew the only person there that needed to come up was me and my husband!  

Audience: [laughing]

CLARICE: [laughs] So George, who’s the savior of the Catholic Church, he says, “Oh, these poor Protestant people! They don’t know how to get the blessing and they’re going to embarrass the priest!” See God will let you believe whatever you need to believe!

Audience: [laughing]

CLARICE: Turn to your neighbor and say, “We’ve not been this way before!”

Audience: We’ve not been this way before! [laughing]

CLARICE: So we’re coming to the place where he says, “Doesn’t anybody want the Holy Spirit?” And George says, “When I was confirmed the Bishop slapped me and said, ëReceive the Holy Ghost!’”

Audience: [laughter]

CLARICE: And I said, “That’s not what he’s talkin’ about!” And he said, “What?” I said, “They’re going to give away a bird!”

Audience: [laughing]

CLARICE: This is where you say, “We have not been this way before!”

Audience: Whooo! Whooo! Hoo – hoo – hoo – hoo! [laughing]

CLARICE:  I said, “At any moment they’re going to say, ëLook under your seat and who has 777? They win the bird!’”

Audience: [more laughter]

CLARICE: And George said, “Well we’ve got to go up cause nobody’s goin’ up!” But then I said, “Now when I was in a Baptist church we used to walk the aisle and it meant something!” You know every week I got saved! You know?

Audience: [laughter]

CLARICE: I’d dedicate and rededicate and dedicate and rededicate! And I never knew when it was going to take! But see –

Audience: [laughing]

CLARICE: Get saved on Sunday, get lost on Monday! But you know –

Audience: [laughing]

CLARICE: Sunday’s comin’! Praise God! [laughs] So I know some of you’all relate to that story. But here it is. We’re going to come to the front. George says, “We’re goin’ up to the front and show ‘em how to do it!” So I mean everybody is, “Dinner is comin’!”

Our Guest Clarice Fluitt

CLARICE: You know that’s just the way it is here! So he did go to the burger place and he says, “I’ve come by to help you out.” And he was so full of himself. Well, they didn’t hire him there. And then he realized I’ve got to change my mind! I’ve got to change my attitude! How many of you have ever had a time in your life where you said, “I’ve got to change my mind?” It’s not about everybody else! It might be about me, you know the reason things aren’t working!” And so he goes by the city zoo and he sees a sign that says, “Help Wanted!” And he says, “I’ve never worked with wild animals.” Then he thought of his wife’s face.

Audience: [laughing]

CLARICE: And then realized he had more experience. You see we are a people that have more things going on in our life than what we are aware of! We can do more than what we think we can! Champions live differently than ordinary people. And so he goes in and they right in the middle when he came in one of the guys ran in. He said, “The most terrible thing just happened!” They said, “Uhh! What happened?” He says, “The gorilla died!” And he says, “The gorilla died!” They said, “Yes, and we’ve got all these little kids that are coming in! The kindergarten kids and the gorilla’s their favorite thing. But we just don’t know what to do!” And he said, “Well we have an old gorilla suit but we don’t have anybody to wear it!”

Audience: Ahhh! [laughter]

CLARICE: John said, “I would love to be a gorilla! I would love to be able to put it on!” They said, “Oh, it’s a hot suit and it doesn’t smell good.” And He says “I love bein’ hot.” And the more he thought about getting gainful employment he began to sell himself! He began to say, “Listen! I really want this job! I’ll be the most outstanding gorilla you’ve ever seen!” And so they went and got the suit and they drug the dead gorilla out and here comes John. He’s all dressed up and they said, “Look, John. All you have to do is you put this suit on. You stand back as far as you can. Every now and then beat your chest and go, “Uhh, uhh!”

Audience: [laughter]

CLARICE: And he said, “Okay! I got it!”

And as I got ready to get up off my knees, all of a sudden, God honored my prayer and the presence of God became pregnant in that room. And the atmosphere changed. And all of a sudden, Jesus appeared before us with a white robe. And he stood before the shower in that 8 by 16 cell. He stood in that white robe, and then he began to raise his arms up. He didn’t say anything. And then he changed to a scarlet red, and then heavenly blue, and then white again. And as this happened, I was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues in such clear audible tones.

And I would speak in English these words that would come into my mind, that I later would find were in Vic’s mind. They would come out of my mouth. I would seal them in this unknown language. And then Vic would get full interpretation of what I was saying, and he would announce back in English. And all but two of the prayers we prayed in that two hour timeframe were answered within 48 hours, we found out. And God moved.

So then he disappeared. And all of a sudden here’s what happened. I saw a cloud on the floor in the prison cell, and it was about the size of a man’s hand. And the Holy Spirit said to me, “Test the spirits.” And I looked down and I said, “Do you know Jesus?” And when I said that, it sparked gold and platinum, and it filled the floor of the prison cell. And I’m the only one that’s on the floor at this point, the other two people are sitting on their beds.

And I stepped into this cloud of his presence. It was about 18 inches high. As I stepped, in every time I said Jesus, it would spark gold and platinum. Jesus, gold and platinum. And as I would do that, it would like … It was like static electricity on my legs. And it was like a young child playing with the father, the father playing with the young child. I went from jet thief and cocaine trafficker to playing in the presence of a living God, because I’d been forgiven and become like that of a child.
